We provide three focused tours: Ecology, Oyster Harvesting and Annapolis Waterfront.
Ecology Focus – Experience the Bay of yesterday and today with this hands-on Ecology tour of the Museum Campus. Interact with the aquatic life of the Bay in our dual 500 gallon aquariums, touch a fish, discover our watershed, and understand what you can do to help the Bay.
Oyster Harvesting Focus – Oyster harvesting has long been an important way of life for watermen on the Chesapeake Bay. Discover how the Bay’s most beloved bivalve has fueled not only Annapolis’ economy but its culture as well. Learn about the harvesting tools and techniques and try your own hand at harvesting. This track also explores the history of the McNasby Oyster Company.
Annapolis Waterfront Focus – Take a deeper dive into Annapolis’ rich maritime past. Shipping, boat building, and recreational boating are just a few of the waterfront activities that have defined this unique town.
