Jaclyn Mertz

Jaclyn Mertz – Education Program Coordinator

Jaclyn, a Maryland native with a decade of experience in the museum sector, brings a wealth of knowledge and passion to her role. She earned her B.S. in Environmental Science and Policy with a focus on Wildlife Ecology from the University of Maryland in 2014. Following her graduation, Jaclyn dedicated a year to teaching youth in Vermont through the AmeriCorps Program at the Fairbanks Museum and Planetarium.
Jaclyn’s career then took her to Salt Lake City, where she spent five years as the Education Manager at The Leonardo Museum. Her journey continued in Texas, where she further honed her skills as the Museum Program Coordinator at the National Museum of the Pacific War for 3.5 years.
Now back in Maryland, Jaclyn enjoys exploring her home state, reading, and playing ping-pong with her boyfriend, Aaron. Her diverse experience and enthusiasm for education and engagement make her a valuable asset to the museum community.
