David Gendell
David Gendell
Sailor and author David Gendell is an Annapolis native. In 1995, he co-founded SpinSheet, a Chesapeake Bay sailing magazine. In 2004, he co-founded PropTalk, a Chesapeake Bay powerboating magazine. Both magazines remain in production.
David has held corporate leadership positions at Visa and PayPal. In his most recent role at PayPal, he led a 55-person marketing advertising partnership team with presence in the US, UK, and Australia.
He is the author of three non-fiction books: including “Thomas Point Shoal Lighthouse: A Chesapeake Bay Icon,” the first and only book devoted to the historic 1875 lighthouse and “The Last Day of the Schooner America,” an award-winning book that was underpinned by research conducted at the Annapolis Maritime Museum’s Archives & Collections.
David holds an active U.S. Coast Guard Captain’s license. He lives in Annapolis with his family.
