Job Summary
The Annapolis Maritime Museum & Park (AMM) seeks a Site Supervisor. The Site Supervisor will act as the on-site point of contact during events, offering support to clients, caterers, vendors, and guests, while ensuring the smooth operation of events at the Annapolis Maritime Museum & Park (AMM).
Key Responsibilities
- Event Setup & Venue Preparation:
- Arrive early to inspect the venue and ensure it is clean, organized, and ready for the event.
- Unlock and secure doors, ensuring proper access for vendors, staff, and guests.
- Set up essential equipment and supplies such as lighting, and A/V equipment.
- Ensure that all exhibits and displays are turned off or properly managed to avoid disruption.
- Coordinate with vendors on site (caterers, AV technicians, etc.) for any special setup needs or questions.
- Ensure parking signs are placed according to venue guidelines, directing guests and vendors to appropriate parking locations.
- Client & Vendor Support During Events:
- Serve as the on-site point of contact for event clients, vendors, and guests.
- Provide timely and accurate information about the venue to vendors, clients, and guests.
- Address any issues or requests from clients or vendors in a professional, proactive manner.
- Monitor the venue for any safety hazards or issues and resolve them immediately.
- Keep the venue accessible and safe, ensuring that only authorized personnel are allowed in restricted areas.
- Coordinate the smooth operation of the event by adjusting lighting, temperature, and other venue-specific needs as necessary.
- Be visible and available to address any questions or concerns during the event.
- Maintenance of Venue Standards:
- Monitor cleanliness of bathrooms, kitchen areas, event spaces, and common areas throughout the event.
- Ensure all doors and equipment are locked or turned off at the conclusion of the event.
- Supervise cleanup activities and confirm that all rented equipment is returned, and venue space is cleared.
- Event Breakdown & Closing Procedures:
- Oversee event breakdown, ensuring vendors, caterers, and staff clear the venue in a timely manner.
- Confirm that the venue is cleaned and restored to its original state, ensuring all personal items and rentals are accounted for.
- Turn off all lighting, audio-visual equipment
- Ensure all doors are securely locked, and alarms are set as required at the end of the event.
- Return all equipment to the appropriate storage locations.
Qualifications:
- Background in event coordination, venue management, or hospitality is preferred.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Strong problem-solving abilities and the ability to adapt quickly in dynamic situations
- Ability to lift, move, and set up event furniture and materials
- Comfortable standing, walking, and performing physical tasks for extended periods
- Professional and reliable
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Resourceful and quick-thinking under pressure
- Appropriate attire required: dress or dark pants, collared shirt, and closed-toe
- Must be available to work evenings, weekends, and occasional holidays based on event need

About the Museum:
The Annapolis Maritime Museum & Park (AMM) is a major community asset serving Anne Arundel County and beyond. AMM educates youth and adults about the Annapolis area’s rich maritime heritage and the ecology of the Chesapeake Bay through programs, exhibits, and community events. We accomplish this mission through an engaging suite of hands-on programming and by bringing visitors to our two campuses on Back Creek and aboard the Museum’s historic skipjack, Wilma Lee.
A volunteer board of 17 distinguished community members and a professional staff oversee the operations and long-range planning for this tax-exempt 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. We are proud to share that our thriving cohort of nearly 250 volunteers are involved in all aspects of the Museum’s functions.
The Education Center at the Museum’s Park campus offers four core education programs, as well as field trips, family programs, afterschool programs, summer camp, and more. The Education Center serves more than 12,000 students annually.
AMM hosts numerous events and programs throughout the year (e.g., Boatyard Beach Bash, Oyster Roast & Sock Burning, Tides & Tunes Summer Concerts and September Sunsets Concert Series, Winter Lecture Series and serves as a gathering place for both civic and community functions.

Salary Range: $62,000 – $67,000
About the Annapolis Maritime Museum & Park
The Annapolis Maritime Museum & Park (AMM) educates youth and adults about the area’s rich maritime heritage and the ecology of the Chesapeake Bay through hands-on experiences, exhibits, and community programs. With two waterfront campuses, AMM offers a wide range of programs and experiences—from museum exhibits and education programs to concerts, special events, and sailing excursions aboard the historic skipjack Wilma Lee.
Position Overview
The Marketing Manager is responsible for executing the Museum’s marketing and communications strategy to increase awareness, engagement, and participation across all AMM programs and offerings. This role is ideal for a creative, results-driven professional who is comfortable taking a strategy and independently executing all aspects of a marketing plan—from digital campaigns to print collateral.
The Marketing Manager will oversee day-to-day marketing operations, develop promotional materials, and create compelling content that drives attendance and revenue for AMM’s exhibits, education programs, summer camps, Wilma Lee cruises and charters, Box of Rain program, venue rentals, and community events such as the Tides & Tunes and September Sunsets concert series. The position also supervises a seasonal marketing intern.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute the annual marketing and communications plan to promote AMM’s programs, events, and initiatives.
- Develop and manage marketing campaigns across digital, print, and social media platforms.
- Create engaging content for AMM’s website, email newsletters, press releases, and social media channels.
- Design or coordinate the creation of marketing collateral including brochures, flyers, signage, and event materials.
- Manage AMM’s brand presence and ensure consistent messaging across all communications.
- Collaborate with program, education, and events staff to understand priorities and develop marketing strategies that meet organizational goals.
- Track and report on marketing performance metrics, including campaign effectiveness and audience engagement.
- Maintain and grow AMM’s email list and social media followers to strengthen community engagement.
- Support public relations efforts and media outreach.
- Manage photography, video, and digital asset libraries.
- Supervise and mentor a seasonal marketing intern.
- Maintain AMM website through executing minor text edits in Elementor and managing an agency to action larger updates. Maintain SEO on site through leveraging tools such as Yost.
- Develop and maintain partnership with local media and tourism partners.
- Manage agencies and creative partners for asset development and campaign execution.
- Track and manage marketing budget for all departments.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, public relations, or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant marketing experience, preferably in a nonprofit, museum, orcultural organization.
- Proven ability to execute marketing campaigns and manage multiple projects independently.
- Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills.
- Proficiency in digital marketing tools (email marketing, social media platforms, website CMS, and analytics).
- Basic graphic design skills (Adobe Creative Suite or Canva) preferred.
- Experience with CRM or email systems such as Constant Contact, Mailchimp, or similar.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment.
- Enthusiasm for AMM’s mission and comfort working in a waterfront, maritime setting
