The Annapolis Maritime Museum & Park partners with Capital SUP to offer paddle tours along Back Creek. All tours depart from Capital SUP, located at the Museum’s Park Campus, the Ellen O. Moyer Nature Park (7314 Edgewood Road Annapolis, MD 21403). Paddle tours are offered May – September.

Museum Tour & Paddle

Paddle over to the Annapolis Maritime Museum, the site of the last historic oyster packing plant in the area, the McNasby Oyster Company. There you will join an experienced guide for a tour of the new permanent exhibit Our Changing Waterfront. Explore traditional Bay workboats in the museum’s beachside park, catch of glimpse of the historic skipjack Wilma Lee, and enjoy breathtaking views of the Bay. Our hands-on approach to history will take you on a journey to uncover the rich maritime history of Annapolis.

These tours are offered once per month. Please see the 2021 tour dates below. Tours leave from Capital SUP, located at the Museum’s Park Campus, the Ellen O. Moyer Nature Park (7314 Edgewood Road Annapolis, MD 21403). This is a two hour tour, 10am – 12pm.

Eco-Paddle Tours

Eco-Paddle Tours are led by one of Capital SUP’s three experienced, knowledgeable, and nature loving guides who will show you around Back Creek, while teaching your group about the surrounding wildlife and history.

These tours are offered on Sunday mornings. Please see the 2021 tour dates below. Tours leave from Capital SUP, located at the Museum’s Park Campus, the Ellen O. Moyer Nature Park (7314 Edgewood Road Annapolis, MD 21403). This is a one-and-a-half-hour tour, 4:30pm – 6pm.

Private Paddle & Wilma Lee Cruise

Heritage Tour

This guided two-hour heritage cruise with one of our knowledgeable docents will take you back in time to explore the fascinating maritime history and unique ecology of our area. Built in 1940 by the well-known boat builder, Bronza Parks, and meticulously restored in 2019, the Wilma Lee offers an authentic setting for you to connect to the Bay through both cultural and ecological lenses. Complimentary water is available onboard.

Music Cruise

Enjoy a relaxing two-hour tour of Annapolis Harbor and the Chesapeake Bay, soaking in our area’s unique beauty from the water while listening to music. The wind, water, and countless photo opportunities will be sure to delight your whole group. Complimentary water is available onboard.
