The Annapolis Maritime Museum is the gateway to the beautiful Thomas Point Shoal Lighthouse. The Museum joined the Chesapeake Chapter of the U.S. Lighthouse Society and the City of Annapolis to manage and preserve this beloved National Historic Landmark. Built in 1875, the Thomas Point Shoal Lighthouse is the last screw-pile lighthouse on the Bay still in its original location, one-and-a-half miles offshore in the Chesapeake Bay at the mouth of the South River. Conservation and restoration are ongoing goals of the partnership. Docent-led tours aboard the lighthouse are offered each summer.
All tours are on Saturdays. In the event of inclement weather, ticket holders will be issued a refund or they may select another tour date.
