SCOUT PROGRAMS
Looking for a fun and hands-on outdoor activity for your Scout Group? Or, are you looking to fulfill Scout badge requirements? Bring your scouts to AMM! Programs include outdoor exploration, hands-on activities, experiments, and skill development. Your Scout Group can participate in one of our Signature Scout Programs or a program designed specifically to meet your badge requirements.

AMM Signature Scout Programs
- 1- or 2-hour program
- $8 per child per hour ($8/child for 1-hr or $16/child for 2-hr).
- Signature Scout Program minimums apply: 1-hour minimum is $100 and 2-hour minimum is $175.
- Location: AMM’s Park Campus and Education Center, 7300 Edgewood Road, Annapolis, MD.
- The AMM Patch can be earned with any of our Signature Scout Programs (extra $2/patch).

Oystering in the Chesapeake Bay
Use real oyster tongs to “harvest” oysters (experience similar to commercial oystering), use model tools and learn about technological advances in the oyster industry through an oyster harvesting game, discover the wardrobe of a waterman – what tools and gear they need to succeed, and more! How have humans impacted the oyster population and how can we find a balance so that our ecosystems, economy, and cultural heritage thrive?
Animals and Habitats of the Chesapeake Bay Watershed
Learn about iconic Bay species including oysters, crabs, eels, and fish through hands-on investigations and up-close encounters. Catch and identify animals using a seine net (seasonal) and hike the Park Campus to identify a variety of animal habitats. (Activities and animals dependent upon seasonal availability.) How can we be good stewards of the environment and take care of the plants and animals who call the watershed home?
The Water in our Watershed
Measure water quality using scientific tools to gain insights into the health of our Chesapeake Bay, use a terrain model to observe the movement of water and polluted runoff throughout our watershed, conduct an experiment to identify what type of water makes up the Chesapeake Bay, and more! What can we do to improve water quality and prevent pollution in our beautiful Bay?
