Katey is a lifelong Marylander who fell in love with nature as a kid during summer camp. Her favorite memories include searching for critters in the creek, hiking, and camping. When she grew up, she hoped to find a career that felt like summer camp all year long, and luckily environmental education fits the bill perfectly. She graduated from St. Mary’s College of Maryland with a B.A. in Biology and Environmental Studies, followed by an M.A.T. in Secondary Science. She has taught in the field of environmental and outdoor education for the past 9 years and is excited to join AMM as the Assistant Education Director. Katey hopes to continue inspiring the next generation of environmental stewards through hands-on, engaging, and fun educational experiences. While away from the museum, you can find Katey hiking, kayaking, spending time with family and friends, or playing with her adorable dog Rosie.
